01 / Eligibility

To use Recura, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement (or parental/guardian consent if aged 16–17)
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law
• Comply with these Terms at all times

If you are aged 16–17, a parent or guardian should review these Terms with you before you use Recura.

02 / Description of Service

Recura provides two core features:

• AI Running Gait Analysis: Record a short video of yourself running. Our AI analyses your running biomechanics and returns a gait score and movement metrics including cadence, stride length, ground contact time, vertical oscillation, foot strike pattern, and related data points.
• Ranked 1v1 Duels: A competitive ranked system where you race opponents in the same division. Users progress through nine ranks: Rebuilding, Pacer, Stride Runner, Tempo Runner, Iron Runner, Apex Runner, Recura Ultra, Recura Legend, and Hall of Fame, each containing three internal divisions (Div III, Div II, Div I). Progress is measured in Recura Points (RP) earned or lost in each duel.

03 / Account Registration

To use Recura, you must create an account with a valid email address, a username, and a secure password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity occurring under your account
• Keeping your account information accurate and current
• Notifying us immediately at Mozza@recura.pro if you suspect unauthorised access

You may only hold one account. Creating multiple accounts to gain competitive advantage, evade suspension, or manipulate rankings is strictly prohibited.

04 / Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law
• Submit videos that are not of yourself, or that misrepresent your running form
• Manipulate, falsify, or attempt to game gait scores, duel outcomes, or rankings
• Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or other artificial means to interact with the Service
• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, decompile, or compromise any aspect of the Service or its underlying systems
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to disrupt or damage the Service
• Impersonate any person or create a false impression of affiliation with any organisation
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, suspensions, or competitive limitations
• Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our prior written consent
• Collect or harvest data about other users from the Service

05 / Health and Medical Disclaimer

• Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, modifying, or significantly changing any exercise programme
• If you experience pain, discomfort, or injury, stop exercising and seek appropriate medical attention
• Do not rely solely on Recura's analysis for decisions about training, injury rehabilitation, or health
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated gait analysis
• Individual results will vary significantly: Recura is a tool, not a substitute for professional assessment
• You use Recura's features at your own risk and within your own physical capabilities

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recura accepts no responsibility for any physical injury, health issue, or harm arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any gait analysis output.

06 / Ranked Duels and Competitive Features

The 1v1 duel and ranking system is a competitive feature for entertainment and motivation. You acknowledge that:

• Live duels use your device's GPS to measure distance, including while the app is in the background or your screen is locked for the duration of an active duel, see our Privacy Policy for how this location data is handled
• Duel outcomes are determined algorithmically based on distance and gait performance metrics
• Each duel awards or deducts Recura Points (RP) from your account, win RP and loss RP amounts vary by rank, with win RP decreasing and loss RP increasing at higher ranks to make top positions progressively harder to maintain
• There are nine ranks: Rebuilding, Pacer, Stride Runner, Tempo Runner, Iron Runner, Apex Runner, Recura Ultra, Recura Legend, and Hall of Fame, each containing three internal divisions (Div III, Div II, Div I)
• Rankings may rise or fall based on duel results, this is an intended and core feature of the system
• We reserve the right to adjust ranking algorithms, RP values, division thresholds, and duel mechanics at any time to improve the Service
• Cheating, manipulation, or unsporting behaviour may result in account suspension or permanent ban
• Your username and ranking position are displayed publicly on leaderboards as part of the competitive feature, participating in ranked duels constitutes consent to this public display

07 / Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

Basic features of Recura are available at no cost.

Recura Pro

Premium features require a paid subscription managed entirely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

• The subscription price is displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID or Google account settings
• We do not receive or store your payment card details, all payment processing is handled by Apple or Google
• Refunds are subject to Apple's or Google's refund policies
• We may change subscription prices with reasonable notice

Free Trial

If a free trial is offered, you will have full Pro access during the trial. You will be charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before expiry. Each user is eligible for one free trial per account.

08 / Intellectual Property

All content, features, software, design, graphics, trademarks, and branding within Recura are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of our content or Service without our prior written consent; use our name, logo, or branding without authorisation; remove proprietary notices; or reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code from the app.

09 / Your Content and Data

You retain ownership of content you create, including videos submitted for analysis and your profile information. By using Recura, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to process your video and movement data to provide the gait analysis Service (your raw video is deleted immediately after analysis); store and display your username and ranking on public leaderboards; and use anonymised, aggregated metrics to improve our AI as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with researchers or other third parties for research purposes. This licence terminates when you delete your account, subject to any legal retention obligations.

10 / Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account without prior notice if you violate these Terms, engage in cheating or fraudulent behaviour, harass other users, fail to pay applicable subscription fees, or use the Service in a way that could harm Recura, other users, or third parties.

You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Personal data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11 / Disclaimers

Recura is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties including that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; that gait analysis results will be accurate or complete; that the Service is fit for any particular purpose; and that errors or defects will be corrected. We do not warrant that using Recura will improve your running performance or prevent injury.

12 / Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, Recura and its owner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities; physical injury, health deterioration, or harm resulting from use of the Service or reliance on any gait analysis output; damages arising from inability to use the Service; or unauthorised access to your data beyond our security obligations under UK GDPR.

In any event, our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13 / Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Recura and its owner from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights; or any content you submit to the Service.

14 / Changes to the Service and These Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where possible. We may update these Terms from time to time and will notify you of material changes via the app or email before they take effect. Continued use of Recura after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept updated Terms, stop using the Service and delete your account.

15 / Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Recura shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.

16 / Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17 / Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Recura regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
